When we were sitting in this very room, during our interview, David told me that Barts Electric is a, you know, very family-esque style company. You know, the main thing on all the pamphlets is “We build people,” he said. “That’s our goal, and that’s what we want to do.” When I got here, of course, the “We build people” thing already started with me because I got a shot at doing something that I had zero experience with. I’d been shot down from so many other companies, and here Barts Electric was, saying, “Hey, we like you. We like what you can offer us. We think you’d be a great fit, even though you don’t have any experience. We’re willing to take you on to teach you.” So, they’re really building me to be a great HR person.

So far, in my 30 days here, I don’t see any possible way that there’s a company out there that I’ve ever worked for that is as good as this one at doing that. You feel welcome; you walk in the door, and people are talking to you. You get to know everyone real quick; everybody’s super nice to you.

There’s a bunch of people that I never would have thought I would interact with on a day-to-day basis that I do. Half the electricians that walk in from the shop, Mario, our shop foreman, talks to me every day. He’s outside a completely different part of the building, and I’ve worked in other places where if you’re in a different part of the building, you never see that person. He takes time out of his day whenever he walks in to stop and talk to me, and it’s great. I love it here.
