So, is this your last week in the shops? Well, we’re going to pair them with a mentor today. Okay, so he’ll probably be in the shop, Moses, probably all week this week. Okay, and maybe next week he’ll be back out and see you also. Okay, so I’ll come out tomorrow or the next day.

What about you mentoring? Sure, and you could assign him even to under Jesse or somebody. Or you could say, “You’re gonna help me for a day,” or “You’re gonna help with us for a day.” Hey, we need to figure out how to get you on the career path. That’s part of what we do at Barts Electric. You know, Annie’s new, but she comes to the meeting and says, “Oh, there might be more to your career than what you’re really seeing. Maybe you left the part that you most likely… you’re probably not going to want to wear your tools for the next 30 years.” Let’s say you say, “Hey, I want to be a journeyman, and then once I’m a journeyman, I want to be a foreman.” I mean, I want to be a project manager. Well, then what we can do instead of trying to teach you to be a foreman, we can teach you to learn the work in the field. But also because maybe come in once a month and work as a PM assistant. Okay, and maybe you show up on a job as an electrician to work on it. Yeah, and he says, “Hey, I’m going to let you be the PM assistant, but you’re going to be on site. So maybe an hour in the morning, you’re going to be doing PM work. The rest of the day, you’re gonna put your tools on and go to work.”
