We have a lot of team members with us today. How long have you been with Barts Electric? About eight months. What have you learned so far?

I’ve learned a lot. I had previous experience, and it was a little different; it was industrial. Coming here to commercial, there’s a lot more to do. I’ve learned how to work better with people. Not that I didn’t before, but it’s just different here. These guys are pretty good, and I really enjoy being around good people, good craftsmen, and, I guess, good teachers.

I’ve noticed that a lot of guys, even apprentices, like to teach others. Even if they already know what they’re doing, they still want to teach. They just say, “Hey, I know,” and then, you know, they go, “All right, well, what else do you want to know?” It’s a great culture here.

Our plan is to have a great training program, with ongoing training happening in-house. There’s a strong emphasis on mentoring each other. This collaborative learning culture is not limited to specific settings; you see it happening throughout the field, which is excellent.
